For the OMEGA 42 jet, the aim was to create a completely new design language that aligns with the company’s strategy and will guide the design of other sizes in the series. The design sought to establish a scalable product family that looks credible and modern. The focus was on manufacturability, usability, and smart, clear structural solutions.
The design process began with conceptualizing manufacturability, which smoothly progressed to concrete component design. This involved examining the usability and manufacturability of various parts in collaboration with casting and mechanical design engineers. Overall, the design process was relatively straightforward, although it did progress through several phases as the mechanics and structures were developed.
The end result is very impressive and the desired design goal was achieved, and the customer was very satisfied. The usability of the Jet is top-class and, among other things, the mechanical design of the inspection hatch makes the maintenance of the device easy. Customer feedback has been positive and the design investment has clearly paid off in the case of the OMEGA 42 Jet as well. The OMEGA series represents both Alamar and Buorre's dedication to user-centered, highly efficient and innovative design. The well-functioning collaboration has also led to other work for Buorre on the control interface and graphics.
